Hsiao-Hsia "Charlotte" Huang is a Taiwanese director and writer based in Los Angeles. She earned her B.A. in English Literature from Fu Jen University in Taiwan and an M.F.A. in Film Directing from Chapman University.
Born and raised in Taiwan, Charlotte moved to the United States in 2021 to pursue graduate studies and her filmmaking career. She specializes in family and coming-of-age dramas, crafted with a realist visual style that highlights the quiet intensity of ordinary lives. She is passionate about inspiring audiences to see everyday experiences from new perspectives.
Her work as a writer-director has been recognized by Academy Award- and BAFTA-qualifying festivals, including LA Shorts and Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival.
Outside of filmmaking, she enjoys performing original Mandarin songs and playing guitar at local bars.
